We have always known that Upper Nithsdale is an area rich in artistic talent and during the next year, you will be introduced you to many of our local ‘stars’…….. (in fact we guarantee to amaze you, when you see just what a population of 5,000 can produce in the form of ‘home-grown’ talent!)
However, we also recognised, that there are many folk from within our midst, who would value the opportunity to explore and develop art, craft and cultural pursuits…… both from a social or an economic viewpoint.…… but for various reasons are unable to do so.
Not only is the financial cost of attending a course discouraging…… but the prospect of a 52 mile round-trip to the nearest large town, would prove daunting for most people on time grounds alone.
